The Cosmetic Veneer Process

Dr. Gapuz will collaborate with you on the design of your new smile. You will be able to view smile catalogs that will help you in deciding the style of your new look. Then using edited digital photographs, Dr. Gapuz will give you a preview of the smile that your porcelain restorations will create.

We generally use Empress Porcelain Veneers because of their superlative beauty and ability to perfectly mimic the appearance of your natural teeth. In a case where strength or functionality is critical, other more suitable materials may be used. Dr. Gapuz will explain to you the value of each of these options.

Next impressions are taken of your teeth and our lab will create a "wax-up" of your smile design. Dr. Gapuz will use this wax-up to create temporary veneers that will allow you to "try on" your smile for a couple of weeks. At this point we can make any modifications that you may desire. Then the final design for your veneers is sent to the expert technicians at our laboratory, who will give painstaking attention to creating veneers that will look and feel like your natural teeth. Once finished, these are permanently bonded over the surface of your teeth and your new smile is complete!

Because of our pro-active use of anti-sensitivity solutions before the procedure, the majority of our cosmetic veneers patients have no post-procedure tooth sensitivity. For patients who may be experiencing any tooth sensitivity Dr. Gapuz recommends the use of Sensodyne toothpaste or an anti-sensitivity gel.
