What is a Root Canal?

When a tooth is decayed or cracked, bacteria can get to the pulp. The acid from the bacteria irritates the pulp and it becomes inflamed. Endodontic treatment removes the injured pulp (soft inner tissue) of your tooth and fills the canal with gutta percha (a rubberlike material) to prevent re-contamination of the tooth and then, finally, seals the space. This will bring relief from any discomfort you may be experiencing because of the inflammation.

This procedure allows us to keep your natural tooth structure which is then sealed with a beautiful, natural-looking crown. Your tooth is now restored to health and can function just like any other tooth for the rest of your life, ensuring comfortable chewing and a natural appearance.
