Placing Composite Fillings as a Healthy Restorative Alternative to Traditional Metal

Composite Fillings: a closeup of a woman's open mouth as a dentist examines her teeth.

Our experienced cosmetic dentist, Dr. Alfredo Gapuz uses non-metal, lifelike material for his restorations. These metal-free fillings better withstand pressure on your teeth when biting or chewing compared to metal fillings. Our durable composite fillings also allow you to retain the natural beauty of your smile.

Our composite resin materials can be color-blended to perfectly match the color of your natural teeth. Selecting from a variety of composite materials we regularly utilize, Dr. Gapuz will choose the best one for your unique situation. Composite resin restorations also feel like your true teeth, and you can easily care for them by following your usual hygiene routine.

Dr. Gapuz prefers composite restorations because they offer superior function over metal fillings. Because we bond and seal composite resin restorations, they prevent bacterial leakage and build-up around the restoration, two things commonly occurring with metal fillings. Metal-free fillings protect the health of your teeth and gums, ensuring the future health of your smile.

Benefits of Composite, Tooth-Colored Fillings

Metal-free fillings can provide many benefits for those seeking to replace silver fillings or fill a cavity. Benefits include:

  • They restore the natural appearance of the tooth
  • They often require less alteration of tooth structure
  • They are less sensitive to hot and cold temperatures
  • They restore the strength of the tooth
  • They are performed without the use of mercury, which has shown to have toxic risks even in small doses
  • They are tooth-colored to provide a good blend with the rest of your teeth

Contact Our Practice
