Discover how this treatment can change your life...

The Many Benefits  of Dentures

Replace Missing Teeth

Patients with dentures can experience a complete smile once again. Treatment will replace your teeth and support the tissues of your lips and cheeks, helping to avoid the sunken look that affects most patients after tooth loss.

Improved Functionality

Patients lose functionality when suffering with a missing tooth or several missing teeth. Avoiding certain foods due to tooth loss can take a toll on your overall health, but dentures can allow you to partake in a balanced diet. They will also restore your ability to speak clearly.

Implant-Supported Dentures Restore Oral Health

Implant-supported dentures offer even greater benefits. Dental implants can help prevent the deterioration of your jaw by simulating the bone tissue. Meanwhile, implant-supported dentures remain anchored in your mouth at all times, so you will not have to worry about the prosthetic teeth slipping or falling out of place.

Enhance your Confidence

Imagine feeling confident smiling for pictures, speaking in public, and chatting with friends. Dentures can provide a major boost in your self-confidence.

You have several options when restoring missing teeth...

How a Partial Denture Fits into Your Smile

How long does treatment typically take?

Traditional Denture Timeline

Generally, treatment takes a few weeks and multiple appointments in order to create and fit custom restorations. Dental implant treatment will take longer because implants must fuse with your jaw over the course of several months before they can support dentures. If you choose traditional denture treatment, the process will involve:

Preparation

If necessary, the dentist will perform tooth extractions. If some teeth have decay or other issues, but don't require extraction, these dental issues will be resolved.

Impressions

We take detailed impressions of your gums and jaw to design a custom denture. These are sent to our trusted dental lab for construction.

Wax Model

The lab sends a wax model of your partial or complete dentures to the office to check the fit. As a neuromuscular dentist, Dr. Gapuz will examine the fit to make certain that it helps your jaws meet properly and does not place excessive strain on your jaw joints.

Casting the Permanent Restoration

The lab notes any needed changes to the model and casts your permanent dentures. While you can choose different materials for your restoration, many patients and dentists prefer porcelain prosthetic teeth for their durability and natural-looking results.

Placing the Final Denture

Once your denture is finished, we will schedule an office visit to fit the final prosthetics. Again, the dentist will check the positioning and make any necessary refinements to the fit.

Not sure about traditional dentures? Implant-supported dentures provide many important advantages...

Implant-Supported Dentures Function Like Natural Teeth

Implant-supported dentures attach to posts that fuse with your jaw. Once they are attached, they will stay firmly in place, just like natural teeth. Implants offer incredible benefits with less daily maintenance. We invite you to learn more about the many advantages of dental implants placed by Dr. Gapuz at Aesthetic and General Dentistry
