If you are missing a significant number of teeth, dentures from our Orlando, FL, practice can restore the function and appearance of your smile. At Aesthetic and General Dentistry, you have multiple restorative options to choose from, including implant-supported prosthetics. Dr. Alfredo Gapuz has been providing dentures to patients for over 30 years. With decades of experience, he can deliver remarkably natural-looking prosthetics that also fit comfortably and securely. He is trained in neuromuscular dentistry and takes a comprehensive, whole-body approach to care.

Types of Dentures

Dr. Gapuz is committed to helping each patient choose the treatment that is most appropriate for their needs. When you come to our office, he will perform a complete oral examination. He will evaluate your medical history, examine your jawbone, and explain the different types of dentures, including:

  • Traditional full dentures: These removable restorations will replace all teeth in your upper or lower arch. Using meticulous impressions of your gums, our partnering dental lab will craft a prosthetic with a plastic base that will fit securely in your mouth.
  • Traditional partial dentures: Partial dentures may be recommended if you are missing multiple teeth, but still have healthy teeth as well. Partial dentures are removable and have small clasps that attach to the surrounding healthy teeth.
  • Implant-supported dentures: Full and partial implant dentures will be permanently fixed in your mouth, so they will never slip or move. Dr. Gapuz is an experienced implant dentist. He can perform every stage of your treatment, including the implant placement surgery.

The Benefits of Dentures

Dentures can restore your smile and fill in your lips and cheeks, helping to avoid the sunken-in look that plagues some patients after tooth loss. Dentures can also allow you to eat a much wider range of foods. Many patients are on severely limited diets after tooth loss, which can adversely affect your overall health as well. With proper care, your dentures can last five to eight years.

With decades of experience, he can deliver remarkably natural-looking prosthetics that also fit comfortably and securely.

Implant-supported dentures offer even greater benefits, not the least of which is enhanced stability. This type of restoration will remain anchored in your mouth at all times, so you will not have to worry about the denture slipping or falling out of place while eating or speaking. You may also enjoy clearer speech and the confidence to smile freely. Additionally, the implant posts can help prevent the deterioration of your jawbone.
